CP 203 After the facts comes the meaning…
Jesus, my Lord,
Lord of promises fulfilled,
Lord of measureless joy and
hope unending,
Lord of Fatherly-grace
revealing,
you are the Lord of love beyond
knowing,
In this moment I honour you in
meditation.
My heart delights to dwell on
the written words
of those who testified on your
behalf.
Drenched in the living water of
your Spirit,
they ‘saw’ the meaning of the
cross-in-sacrifice.
- Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners… (1 TIMOTHY 1:15 NIV)
- For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (ROMANS 6:23 NIV)
- God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. (2 COR 5:21 NIV)
- He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins, and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed. (1 PETER 2:24 NIV)
- For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. (COLOSSIANS 1:13,14 NIV)
- For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross. (COLOSSIANS 1:19,20 NIV)
- This grace was given to us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time, but it has now been revealed through the appearing of our Saviour, Christ Jesus, who has destroyed death and has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel. (2 Timothy 1:9,10 NIV)
- Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might destroy him who holds the power of death – that is, the devil – and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death. (HEBREWS 2:14,15 NIV)
- The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work. (1 JOHN 3:8 NIV)
I shake my head in
astonishment,
and nod my head at the truth of
it all.
My heart rises with a joy no
words can speak,
Humbled beyond words,
my body moves to bended knee.
My soul is free. In you I am free.
Thank you, my Lord.
I am free!
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah
